I have been a longtime client of University Eye Associates. I have seen at least 3 different Optometrists at various locations. While the doctors have been fairly good at identifying my glasses and contacts prescription, they have not always gotten the prescription correct. On at least one occasion, I ordered both glasses and prescription sunglasses after an exam, only to discover they got the prescription wrong. So, I had to reorder - my sunglasses were never 'right,' and after 1 month of unsatisfied use, they would not replace or fix my $400 purchase. Nor would they offer a discount on a second pair. I found their response totally unprofessional. I, after all, should not be held accountable if the doctor gives me the WRONG prescription.
However, despite this mishap, I have continued to be a loyal customer - until now. Loralie, who heads up the contact lens dept. in the Davidson office, has always been extremely rude to both my husband and myself. While the other staff are relatively friendly, Loralie has never been cordial toward me during a single visit in the past 2-3 years. (No exaggeration). In fact, she always seems rushed and quite unhappy on the job.
I wear contacts and rarely, if ever, does she give me a trial pair (if I run out before my order comes in). I pay roughly $120 every 2.5 months for contacts that I order from this location, and have done so for going on four years. Yet, they can't give out a spare set occasionally to loyal customers in need?
I have also been told in the past that they could give me a couple of spare lenses, only to drive 30 minutes to their office and receive nothing because they are reportedly 'out-of-stock.' That has happened on numerous occasions!
Having said that, if you are a contact lens wearer, I highly recommend you go elsewhere, unless you are willing to fork over loads of money in exchange for poor service. I am giving a rating of 3 stars only because I like the Optometrists and some of the secretarial staff is friendly. Overall, two thumbs down.
