A trip back in time
The oldest cabin was built circa 1775! There are about seven cabins at this place, and it sits in a wooded setting. It's in the middle of town (Boone) but you feel like you are in a wilderness settlement. Picnic tables are available on the grounds next door where Horn in the West play is performed in the summer. A beautiful park to stroll! The volunteers at the museum are all in costume and we felt like we had stepped back in time. They are very knowledgeable about the history of their area. Admission is donation of suggested $5. It was definitely worth it!!

Daniel Boone outdoor drama by Bunny E. at InsiderPages
Very colorfu, energetic musical with Indian dance and Revoluntionary soldiers firearms. The story line gives a credible rendition of the interplay between the settlers, soldiers and Indians.

This is one of the last old fashioned outdoor dramas and well worth the admission price.

Have an early, home style dinner at the Daniel Boone Inn before seeing the story of Daniel Boone.
